Bull Flag
ChartBullishContinuationReliability:
A sharp advance (the pole) followed by a slight down-sloping consolidation channel (the flag); it usually breaks higher.
Description
The pole is a near-vertical rally; the flag is a sideways-to-slightly-down drift within a tight range before continuation.
Market psychology
After a fast rise the market pauses to catch its breath while buyers hold positions; the shallow pullback shows weak selling pressure.
How to trade
The target is often the pole length projected from the break; wait for a close above the upper edge of the flag.
Confirmation
A close above the flag with volume returning after the low-volume consolidation.
